Cultural Hotspot: East York Launch (2017)

The Cultural Hotspot launch took place on the newly renovated grounds of the East York Civic Centre with an exciting mix of entertainment that included: Baque de Bamba, Broken Dance, Cosmic Cat, Gower Street Gang and the Junkestra. The Civic Centre grounds were animated with interactive art installations and craft-making activities, face painting, music and singing by our SPARK and Signature project partners.

From May through October 2017, the Cultural Hotspot initiative will shine a spotlight on arts, culture and community in East York/East End; inspiring new ideas about where culture thrives in Toronto.

The Cultural Hotspot highlights an area bordered by Eglington Avenue to the north, Lake Ontario to the south, Victoria Park Avenue to the the east and Bayview Avenue/Con Valley Parkway to the west.
